A three-generation family business dedicated to a high level of quality — for 51 years.
Call (270) 683-3618In 1975, My Grandfather Thomas Lloyd Whittaker and my Grandmother Peggy Lavonne Whittaker, scraped together every dollar saved from doing gutter service out of the back of a truck, to purchase our shop at 1805 West 9th street in Owensboro, KY. Soon after buying the shop, My grandfather "TL" as we called him, went to Dodge and purchased with money saved the beloved 1975 Dodge Crew Cab that we still use on every gutter job to this day. After buying the truck, the story goes, he had just enough money to drive that truck to North Carolina to buy the 5" gutter machine that still produces gutters to exacting specification today.
That was 1975, that was my grandfather "TL", now my dad "TD" is still the man who answers the phone, gives free estimates, and comes out in person to do the best gutter installation money can buy. It is too bad the machine doesn't have a foot counter on it, but if you take 51 years in service at an average of 5 jobs a week, and each job averaging 100 feet and four downspouts, that is 1.275 million feet of gutters, and 51,000 downspouts Whittaker Aluminum has installed. My numbers are only estimates, but that truck and gutter machine put me through college, and I would say the numbers are on the low side.
